Film noir is a genre of film defined by its imitation of pulp noir fiction which were basically crime dramas with flare: moody lighting, cynicism and the femme fatale. The literal translation “film noir” in French is “dark film.” Many, like myself, have dubbed the month of November the official season of Noir.
